After killing ’em at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the rom-zom-com LIFE AFTER BETH
has now been scheduled for wider exposure.
A24, which currently has Scarlett Johansson’s UNDER THE SKIN in theaters, has announced that it will open LIFE AFTER BETH in limited release August 15. The directorial debut of Jeff Baena, who also scripted (and co-wrote David O. Russell’s I HEART HUCKABEES), the movie features a potent cast including Aubrey Plaza, CHRONICLE’s Dane DeHaan, DARK WATER’s John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Cheryl Hines, Paul Reiser, Matthew Gray Gubler and PARANORMAN’s Anna Kendrick. The synopsis: “Zach is devastated by the unexpected death of his girlfriend, Beth. But when she miraculously comes back to life, Zach takes full advantage of the opportunity to share and experience all the things he regretted not doing with her before. However, the newly returned Beth isn’t quite how he remembered her and, before long, Zach’s whole world takes a turn for the worse.” Check out Fangoria’s review here.
