Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn: The Amazing Spider-man 3 is going to happen?

‘Sinister Six’ Delayed Following Sony & Marvel’s Spider-Man Deal

Fanboys and -girls around the globe are no doubt still celebrating last night’s surprising announcement that Sony and Marvel would partner to produce new Spider-Man films, and integrate the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what does that mean for what was to be Sony’s first “Amazing Spider-Man” spinoff, “Sinister Six”?

According to the Wall Street Journal, “Sinister Six” will remain in development at Sony, but it’s been delayed indefinitely. WSJ writes that the studio is “rethinking” its plan for the flick, and it has been pulled from its initial release date of November 11, 2016.

While that’s never a good sign for a movie, WSJ’s report indicates that Sony still wants to move forward with the film, and so far, Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods”) is still on board to write and direct. Still, not knowing when the movie may come out may cause some of “Sinister”‘s high-profile cast members — including Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Rhys Ifans, and Dane DeHaan — to bolt from the project, putting it in even more uncertain waters.

Letting go of the flick might be in Sony’s best interest, since one of the driving forces behind its agreement to the Marvel partnership was that the “Amazing Spider-Man” films under-performed; gathering together a group of lesser-known villains from that same universe into a different movie may not have worked out, either. Still, nothing is set in stone yet, and Marvel’s production company is known for building hits around unlikely protagonists (see: “Guardians of the Galaxy”).

Stay tuned.

Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn: The Amazing Spider-man 3 is going to happen?

‘Spider-Man 3’ Movie Release Date, Cast Rumors & News: Andrew Garfield & Dane DeHaan Return in 2018 Film?

Even before the release of “The Amazing Spider Man 2“, Sony Pictures has seemed to settle on the release dates of its sequels: “The Amazing Spider Man 3” in 2016 and “The Amazing Spider Man 4” in 2018. However, owing to the surprising and below par reception of the first sequel, the premiere of “The Amazing Spider Man 3” will be put off to 2018 while “Sinister Six” will have its debut next year.

Also, Sony Pictures has announced that it will carry out a casting call through CBM, taking aim at Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan to return in the film.

But the ongoing excitement for the movie, which has already been spoiled once, may just be spoiled once again as Sony’s plans for the film is still drifting airborne with franchise agreements still under shaky negotiations.

Flickering Myth reports that “plans for the Spider-Man franchise seem to be completely up in the air at present, with various discussions taking place concerning the possibility of bringing Spidey into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ‘Captain America: Civil War’, or taking the character in a new direction with yet another reboot.”

It can be recalled that “The Amazing Spider Man 2” did not do well in terms of audience reception and Box Office returns, and now Sony is hardly getting any commitment for the franchise of the film because of that. Cinema Blend even reveals that Marvel Studios had plans to drop Garfield as lead, rendering the creation of “Spider Man 3” in question.

Fortunately, several sources confirm that the creation of the film is underway as Bill Beckman Casting released a casting call searching for male and female extras “of all ages and ethnicities, ages 18-65”, Cinema Blend reports.

It has also been confirmed that Sony will be the producing studio. This would mean that Sony’s deal with Marvel Studios will come to an end and Spidey may no longer be appearing with any other Marvel Studio superheroes. And because Sony ends ties with Marvel Studios, the release of Sinister Six may also be put on hold.

Bill Beckman Casting also verifies that “both Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider Man) and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn/ Green Goblin) will be returning for another adventure that will see Spidey ‘facing a new challenge to protect New York City'”, as also shared by Flickering Myth.

But there are more reasons to shrug it off and despite the disappointing show of the “Spider Man 2”: Andrew Garfield is coming back and a casting call means that filming may have already started.

Nonetheless, Flickering Myth reports that Bill Beckman Casting is a “fradulent agency” so there’s a possibility that Garfield and DeHaan may not reprise their roles on the film and Sony might do a reboot on the series.

There is no exact release date of the film but definitely it would be in 2018.

News: Sony moved back its “The Amazing Spider-Man” 3 by two years

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Garfield Lifting Car - H 2014

The studio has dated The Sinister Six, a movie that features an all-star lineup of Spider-Man villains, for Nov. 11, 2016. As part of the move, Sony moved back its The Amazing Spider-Man 3 by two years to 2018. Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4 had already been dated for June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018, respectively.

The studio will move Uncharted into the June 10, 2016, spot. The Seth Gordon-helmed film is an action-adventure based on the best-selling PlayStation video game series that follows the adventures of treasure hunter Nathan Drake.

Sony is very high on Drew Goddard‘s take on the Sinister Six material, which is described as a rough script at this point. Goddard will write and direct the Spider-Man spin-off.

“With Sinister Six in the hands of writer-director Drew Goddard, we feel extremely confident placing the film on a prime date in 2016,” said Doug Belgrad, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.

First introduced in 1964, the original members included Electro, Doctor Octopus, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio, Vulture and Sandman. Electro, played by Jamie Foxx, was already introduced in Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 this summer.

It is unclear which villains this incarnation will feature. Among the possibilities include Green Goblin, played by Dane DeHaan in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The film’s third act dropped so-called Easter eggs for the fans that hinted at potential future villains for the franchise. For instance, Doc Ock’s mechanical arms were seen in the background of one scene. The movie also introduced The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) in its last scene.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing Sinister Six.

As for Uncharted, the latest draft of the screenplay is being written by David Guggenheim, and the film will be an Arad/Atlas Entertainment production, produced byCharles Roven, Arad, Alex Gartner and Ari Arad. The video game series was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment America.

“June 10 is a great date for Uncharted,” Belgrad added. “It’s just the right place for this exciting action-adventure film.”

‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Blu-ray gets release date, might have tantalizing deleted scenes

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 live NYC premiere

It probably had little impact on whether you liked The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but some fans were disappointed when the film’s end credits were not punctuated by the teaser that’s become expected from all the Marvel superhero franchises. At the end of director Marc Webb’s first Spider-Man movie, a mysterious figure confronts the imprisoned Dr. Curt Connors and asks, “Did you tell the boy the truth about his father?” But for the sequel, fans were left with a somewhat random promotional clip for Fox’s most recent X-Men movie.

Since then, the internet has speculated that Webb initially intended to include another teaser scene with the mysterious, gravelly-voiced shadow — whom we now know is Gustav Fiers — based on a Sony photo that seems to contain Norman Osborn’s severed but preserved head. Combine that with Webb’s decision to postpone scenes and certain character developmentsuntil the third film, and you have an inordinate amount of interest in the deleted scenes that might be included on the Blu-ray release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

EW can announce that Spider-Man 2 is available on Digital HD on Aug. 5 before arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 19 – and the release might have something juicy. According to the set’s description, one of the 13 deleted scenes on the Blu-ray is titled “Peter Meets His Father.” Are we foolish to think this could be something more than another flashback, a dream sequence, or another iChat video message? Might Richard Parker (Campbell Scott) actually be alive? Maybe there’s a bookend to that first Spider-Man post-credit teaser: “Did you tell the boy the truth about his father?”
